IEEE TALE 2012 – Instructions for Authors

Overview

Prospective authors are invited to submit papers of four (4) to six (6) A4 pages (including tables, figures and references) in standard IEEE double-column format. Papers will be accepted only by electronic submission through the conference website, from which submission guidelines and a template for papers are available. A blind-review process will be used to evaluate all submitted papers. Each full registration for the conference will cover a maximum of two papers; each student registration will cover a single paper only.

All accepted and registered papers that are presented at the conference will be published in the conference proceedings (CD-ROM/USB) and uploaded to the IEEE Xplore database, which is indexed by Scopus. The proceedings will also be submitted for possible indexing to EI Compendex, ISI Thompson Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI) and INSPEC.

Awards will be presented to authors of the best papers presented at the conference. These authors, along with authors of other selected papers, may be invited to submit revised and expanded versions for potential publication in the IEEE Transactions on Education, and/or other refereed international journals. (The content of the expanded paper must be substantially different to that of the version submitted to the conference, and publication is subject to peer-review acceptance in accordance with the relevant journal's editorial policies and guidelines.)

Selection Process

Submission of contributions is done via https://www.conftool.net/tale-conference/ . The selection process consists of 2 phases:

1. Full Paper Submission – Those undergo peer review, and are accepted or not, notifications are sent to the authors.
2. Final Paper Submission – Authors of accepted full papers submit the final camera-ready copies of their papers. Due to the submission of presented papers to IEEE Xplore^® format instructions (see below) must be respected. A signed copyright form must be submitted along.
3. Post-Deadline Submissions – Authors missing the deadline should send email to the conference email address: enquiry@tale-conference.org requesting additional information.

IMPORTANT

The conference proceedings will be submitted to IEEE Xplore^®. This ensures a wide dissemination of your valuable work. Therefore, some rules must abolutely be followed:

1. The manually signed (by the paper responsable) and scanned copyright form must be submitted along with the final paper. Papers without the copyright form will not appear in the conference proceedings.
2. The format instructions in the template must be followed, it is notably important
   • to use the right paper format: A4
   • to have the right margins
   • not to use page numbering (page footer must be empty)
   • to leave a message in the remarks field (when submitting) if each of the authors of one paper are employees of the US government or a crown government (UK, Canada, Australia)

The copyrights of the papers are transferred to IEEE (except US or crown governments).

IEEE reserves the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference (e.g., removal from IEEE Xplore) if the paper is not presented at the conference.

Papers excluded from further distribution will be archived at IEEE but will not be indexed or appear in IEEE Xplore.
